Piezoelectric and Ferroelectric Copolymers Piezotech® FC

Well-ordered polymer chains with strong dipoles from carbon-fluoride bonds, lead to the very special piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of these P(VDF-TrFE) copolymers.

We produce and markets electroactive copolymers P(VDF-TrFE), in the form of powders, inks or films.

Piezotech® FC

P(VDF-TrFE) copolymers, named Piezotech® FC, exhibit high piezoelectric responses over a wide range of temperatures in their poled ferroelectric phase:

  • High thermal stability of the piezoelectric properties

  • Low power consumption: external power source unnecessary

  • Good mechanical properties

  • High coupling factor

  • Wide frequency range

  • Transparency

  • Chemical resistance

  • High dielectric strength

Compared to PVDF homopolymer, these materials display several advantages:

  • Upper thermal stability (80 °C for PVDF versus 130°C for Piezotech® FC20)

  • Improved coupling factor (0.15 for PVDF versus 0.3 for P(VDF-TrFE))

  • Printable

  • Enhanced piezoelectric properties (higher d33)

Piezotech® FC Powders

P(VDF-TrFE) powders are available in a variety of VDF/TrFE ratios: FC20 (20% TrFE), FC25 (25% TrFE), FC30 (30% TrFE) and FC45 (45% TrFE).

Specific composition or molecular weight can be produced upon request.

Piezotech® FC Inks

Solvents and concentrations have been optimized to allow for the use of standard printing conditions. 3 standard formulations (ink L, ink P, ink H) adapted to conventional techniques are available.

Standard Piezotech® FC Inks are formulated with Piezotech® FC20 polymer powder.

Specific inks can be formulated upon request.
